Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This policy explains how Scentific Pty Ltd (ABN 43 679 159 525) (“we”, “us”, “Scentific”) handles personal information collected through scentific.com.au and related Scentific business services. We are an Australian company. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Scentific Home membership has its own privacy notice at /home-fragrance/privacy. That notice covers membership-specific collection such as fragrance quiz answers, membership billing and refill delivery. This page is the general Scentific privacy policy, including how we handle Google API / Google Ads data used for Scentific’s own advertising operations.

2. Information we collect on the public website

When you contact us or request a quote, we collect the details you submit. Current public enquiry and quote forms ask for information such as your name, email address, phone number, company or property name, message, and optional property or product-interest details.

If you use a Scentific customer, partner or staff account, we also store the account and operational information needed to provide that service.

3. Advertising measurement on our website

The public website loads Google Tag Manager so we can understand how the site is used and how our own advertising performs. If you arrive from a Scentific advertisement, the site may read advertising click identifiers and campaign parameters from the page address (including gclid, gbraid, wbraid and UTM fields). Those values may be stored in your browser for up to 90 days and attached to an enquiry so we can see which of our own ads led to the contact.

That website measurement data is Scentific website / customer data. It is not Google Ads account data obtained through the Google Ads API integration described below.

4. How we use website information

• To respond to enquiries, quotes and partnership requests.
• To provide Scentific commercial services and related accounts.
• To understand how our own website and advertising are performing.
• To send marketing only where you have asked us to, or where the law allows.

5. Who we share website information with

We use service providers that help us operate the website and business. Those currently include Supabase for application data hosting and Google Tag Manager for website measurement. Scentific Home membership uses additional providers described in the Home membership privacy policy.

We do not sell personal information.

6. Google APIs / Google Ads integration

This section is about Google user data received through Google APIs for Scentific’s own Google Ads operations. It is separate from ordinary website and customer data. A short public description of the integration is at /google-ads-integration.

What we access

Authorised Scentific operators connect a Scentific-owned Google account to Scentific’s Google Ads integration. The current authorised scope is Google Ads account access (the Google Ads / AdWords OAuth scope). Through that connection we can read Google Ads account, campaign, reporting and keyword planning data for the Scentific Ads account that the operator authorises.

This integration does not access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Contacts, or general Google profile data. It is not a public product that other businesses use to connect their own Ads accounts.

Why we use it

We use that Google Ads data for Scentific’s own advertising reporting, keyword research and measurement of Scentific campaigns. The current operator tooling is read-only: it does not create, update or launch campaigns, change budgets, or change conversion actions.

How credentials and reports are handled

OAuth client credentials and refresh tokens used by the operator tooling are stored in the operator’s local, uncommitted environment or secret store. They are not stored in this public website or in the public Git repository. Generated audit and keyword-research reports are written to the operator’s local machine. This public website does not store Google Ads API responses from that OAuth connection.

Sharing

We do not sell Google user data. We do not share Google Ads API data from this integration with other customers, advertising platforms or data brokers. Only authorised Scentific operators use the reports they generate for Scentific’s own advertising work.

Access, revocation and requests

The connected Google account holder can revoke access in their Google Account permissions. Scentific can also remove the Ads user and rotate the OAuth client or service-account credentials. Privacy questions or deletion requests about this integration can be sent to admin@scentific.com.au.

Limited Use

Scentific's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar storage to operate the site, remember advertising attribution described above, and support website measurement. You can block cookies in your browser. Some site features may then work less reliably.

8. Your choices

You can ask us for access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete information we no longer need, by emailing admin@scentific.com.au.

9. Changes

We may update this policy when our practices change. The “last updated” date above shows the current version. If we change how we use Google user data, we will update this policy before using that data in a new way.
